Lavrov: Trump fell “under indecent pressure” of the European Union and NATO, and Kyiv delays negotiations with Moscow, hinging the government

The Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who is on an official visit to Beijing, after a meeting of foreign ministers of the SCO member countries, and also after a meeting with Xi Jinping, held a press-breaking for journalists.

The first question concerned official comments about yesterday's statements by US President Donald Trump, who put forward the ultimatum in the event of a peaceful transaction in Ukraine in 50 days, and also allowed NATO countries to arm Ukraine with American weapons.

The Russian Foreign Minister said that Trump, obviously, “is under the huge ... indecent pressure of the EU and NATO,” which “unceremoniously” support Zelensky’s requirements to arm Ukraine with modern offensive weapons.

In addition, according to Lavrov, the West tried to “tighten the United States into the sanctions funnel”, but here, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry notes, Trump immediately warned: for everything (weapons) “Europe will pay”.

“We can handle it (with sanctions), I have no doubt,” Lavrov said, citing the data of “healthy European analysts”.

As for Trump’s threat to introduce duties in 100% of the goods of Russian trading partners (about China and India) in case of unattion of a peaceful transaction, Lavrov said that he “does not see” how partners can “abandon their independent policy” and “compliance with agreements” with Russia.

Lavrov also stated that the Ukrainian side was in every possible way to continue negotiations in the Istanbul format. In particular, at the moment, President Zelensky is changing the government - and the former head of the Ukrainian delegation in Istanbul - the Minister of Defense Umarov - is already going to the USA as a new ambassador.

“The third round of negotiations, which we proposed to start on the week on June 22, is still not mentioned in Ukrainian statements ... And now the negotiator has left,” the minister complained.

They asked Lavrov a question about the possibility of helping Iran in the restoration of infrastructure, destroyed by Israeli-American blows. The answer was concise: "The Iranian side did not apply with such requests."
