Telegram blocked in Nepal

Nepal telecommunications department demanded that the telecommunication services suppliers immediately limit or completely stop access to Telegram, Sinhua reports on July 18.

The notification, which was distributed by the department, states that in Nepal the number of online abnormalities committed using the messenger has grown. Including Telegram used to launder money, the management said.

• Telegram messenger is blocked in several countries of the world, including in China , Iran and Vietnam . They also tried to block the application in some other countries, including in Russia in 2018-2020.
