The leaders of China, Russia and the United States - Xi Jinping, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump - may meet in Beijing in early September. As the British publication The Times reports , citing sources in the Chinese leadership, the meeting is planned to coincide with a large-scale military parade in Tiananmen Square. It is scheduled for September 3 and will be dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.

Putin confirmed participation, a letter to Trump is being prepared

According to the publication, Russian President Vladimir Putin has already confirmed participation in the events. His talks with Xi Jinping are scheduled for September 2. An official invitation to American President Donald Trump has not yet been sent; it is under preparation.

“If President Trump comes to China and participates in the parade, it will send a powerful positive message to the world. The joint appearance of the leaders of China, Russia and the United States may symbolize the desire for peace and stability,” The Times quotes Chinese political expert Jin Cangrong.

Trump doubts, NATO expects escalation with Russia and China

According to The Times, the likelihood of Trump's participation remains uncertain. Sources say he would prefer to hold possible talks with Xi Jinping and Putin on US soil.

Taiwanese analyst Wen-Ti Sun considers Trump's arrival unlikely: “China may invite Trump, but Trump is unlikely to agree. He doesn’t want to be “one of three friends at a party,” the publication quotes him as saying. Against this background, according to the German publication Bild, the Western military is preparing for a possible escalation.

NATO's new Supreme Commander Europe, Alexus G. Grynkiewicz, previously said that the EU and the US have about 18 months left to prepare for a potential major war with China and Russia . According to him, Xi Jinping can coordinate actions with Putin in the event of a conflict over Taiwan. “2027 could be a year of crisis,” he noted.

Previously, “Layout” drew attention to the fact that Western countries are increasingly talking about Vladimir Putin’s readiness to start a new war in Europe . NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte recently said Russia could be ready to attack the European Union within five years.

The International Institute for Strategic Studies in May 2025 admitted that Russia could pose a “significant military threat to NATO allies” by 2027.
