Riot police also arrived at the apartment of editor-in-chief Gleb Trifonov, after which he stopped communicating. According to neighbors, Trifonov was taken away in an unknown direction. The employees who were in the editorial office also do not answer calls.

Baza later reported that phones, computers and documents were seized from the office. Two journalists remain inside with law enforcement officers, their procedural status is unclear. One of the employees was taken to the department, all her equipment was confiscated.

Investigators' version: the case is related to information leaks from the Ministry of Internal Affairs

Almost immediately after the reports of the searches, the Investigative Committee of Russia announced the initiation of a criminal case under the article on abuse of official powers. According to investigators, in several regions, police officers transmitted restricted information, which was then published in telegram.

As part of the investigation, searches were carried out in Moscow, the Krasnodar and Krasnoyarsk territories, as well as in the Belgorod region. The agency did not specify which channel we are talking about, but RIA Novosti, citing a source, reports that we may be talking about Baza.

According to the channel “Caution, News”, lawyer Matvey Tseng was allowed into the editorial office. Representatives of law enforcement agencies, according to Baza, do not explain the essence of the claims against the publication. Presumably, the searches are related to a case of illegal transfer of data by police.
The situation continues to develop; the whereabouts of the editor-in-chief remain unknown.

The official representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Irina Volk, later reported that several employees of territorial departments of the Department of Internal Affairs in the Belgorod region, Krasnodar and Krasnoyarsk territories were detained in the case.
