Trifonov and Lukyanov were detained after searches in the editorial office on July 22. They were accused of giving bribes (part 4 of article 291 of the Criminal Code). According to investigators, Trifonov and Lukyanov are involved in the transfer of money to police from different Russian regions (Krasnodar, Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Belgorod Region) in exchange for official information.
The crime report was officially declared on July 16, 2025, and operational information was dated January 27 of the same year, writes Mediazon from the court. The chief editor of the Baza telegram channel is charged with three episodes in the case of giving a bribe. “Some photographs and statements from bank accounts” are attached to the case, the newspaper writes.
Journalists do not admit their guilt. They face imprisonment for up to 12 years.
According to Kommersant, Baza employees during the interrogation reported that they purchased information and videos for money, but it was about sports or social events. According to the TASS source, in the case "the amounts of no higher than 100 thousand rubles" appear.
Police officers who are also accused of bribes were taken to Moscow for investigative actions.
Earlier, Baza told the details of the detention of Gleb Trifonov. The journalist's neighbors claim that the security forces threatened torture with threats, they knocked out his password during the detention on July 22. The interrogation of the editor -in -chief in the UK ended only at three in the morning, although the Code of Criminal Procedure forbids to interrogate the detainees at night.
