Volgograd publicist and ex -deputy Mikhail Serenko sent in a pre -trial detention center in the case of extortion and rehabilitation of Nazism

The Central District Court of Volgograd sent a publicist and ex-deputy of the City Duma Mikhail Serenko to the pre-trial detention center in a criminal case on a large-scale extortion (part 2 of Article 163 of the Criminal Code) and rehabilitation of Nazism on the Internet (part 2 of Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code), the website V1.ru said .

Serenko was charged with the publication from August 2024 to February 2025, “containing discharging information against a resident of Volgograd”, whose name is not disclosed, in a closed telegram channel “Island of Liberty” for nine thousand subscribers, wrote Kommersant. After the placement of publications, the publicist first demanded 300, and then 350 thousand rubles for “termination of the spread of materials”, the investigation claims.

The source of Kommersant, “close to the governor’s apparatus”, suggests that the case against Serenko could be initiated due to criticism of “someone from large business”.

The case of the rehabilitation of Nazism is associated with several posts in March 2025. The examination found in them "denial of the facts established by the verdict of the International Military Tribunal."

In 2023, after the end of the rebellion of Yevgeny Prigozhin, they came home to Serenko with a search, during which equipment was seized from him. He himself said that "not one of this company [" PMC Wagner "] does not know."

The Channel "Island of Freedom" wrote about Volgograd politics. One of his most cited posts was a selection of photographs from the corporate party of the Volgograd-TRV VGRK in December 2023 (two days after the “naked party”, the blogger Nastya Ivleeva).

Girls in the photo were in costumes of nuns, mermaids, women-cats, Harley Quinn and Kriella de Wil. The “Island of Freedom” published the names of the girls and called the photo report from the party “Porn-photosession with elements of Sadomaso, anti-Christian propaganda and BDSM”.

The deputy head of the local branch of VGTRK Nadezhda Kuleshova, who, a few days before, headed the apparatus of the election headquarters of Vladimir Putin in Volgograd, was reprimanded, and three employees of the State Goskanal were fired.

In April 2024, the “Island of Freedom” published the materials of the protocol of the Volgograd student who played in the KVN in a female image and who came to classes “in women's clothing and with makeup applying”. The telegram channel wrote about the student of the mocking posts and called him the "creature."
