The Ministry of Justice was introduced by the “Institute of Andrei Sakharov” (L'Nstitut Sakharov) and the civilian network movement “Mir. Progress. Human rights ”in the list of“ undesirable organizations ”, follows from the update on the website of the department.
The Institute of Andrei Sakharov was founded in Paris by human rights activist Leo Ponomarev. The organization determines its main tasks:
- support for Russian civil society in conditions of repression;
- assistance to political refugees and deserters from Russia;
- Creating a platform for an expert discussion about the end of the war in Ukraine and building democracy in Russia.
Civil network movement "World. Progress. Human rights ”appeared after the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine. It unites human rights activists, activists, politicians, journalists and representatives of other professions opposing the war and for democratic changes in Russia. The movement also bears the name Sakharov. Some members of the initiative group of this movement are included in the team of the Institute of Andrei Sakharov.
In January 2023, the Prosecutor General’s Office announced an “undesirable” American non -governmental organization “Andrei Sakharov Foundation”.
