A new Patriot installation was delivered to Ukraine

The Patriot installation arrived in Ukraine from Germany at the end of last week, just a few days after US President Donald Trump announced the transfer of these systems to Kyiv at the expense of allies from NATO. First, German Chancellor Friedrich Mertz proposed buying a Patriot installation from the United States to send them to Kyiv, and then NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte proposed an idea with the payment of American weapons allies in the Alliance. Trump quickly agreed to these ideas, since they, in his understanding, corresponded to his policy “to make America again the great,” writes The Telegraph.

As a result, on July 14, Trump announced a transaction with NATO for the supply of weapons and threatened Russia with rigid sanctions if the war does not end by the end of the summer. Then he said that 17 Patriot complexes are being prepared for sending, some of them will be sent from Europe “in the coming days”. As a result, writes The Times, by the end of the week Ukraine really received one Patriot installation from Germany.

On July 22, Mertz announced the supply of five more Patriot, two of which will pay Germany itself, another Norway (who will pay the remaining two, the Chancellor did not specify). However, as Der Spiegel wrote, these attitudes are likely to go to Ukraine only a few months later. For Germany itself, in return for the United States transferred to Kyiv, new Patriot will be made out of turn - they will be redirected as part of orders previously promised Switzerland.

On July 23, the Ukrainian edition of Suspilne wrote that the United States continues to two -sided negotiations with several European countries at once, convincing them to transfer their own Patriot Ukraine, then to replace them with new deliveries from the United States.

Peskov recalled that now the views of the parties on the termination of the conflict are “diametrically opposite”, and “very difficult diplomatic work” will be required to converge them.

Since the beginning of the negotiation process, Ukraine has consistently insists on the opposite approach, arguing that in Russia no one but Putin makes decisions on continuation, suspension or termination of hostilities.

“I think that in Russia only Putin really makes decisions. Therefore, we need a meeting at the level of leaders, if we really want peace, ”Vladimir Zelensky said, in particular, on July 3.
