The exposure of an artistic fake who excelled power in the 90s, but in the 2000s turned out to be a reality

In the winter of 1995, the editorial board of the "Top Secret" holding occupied only four rooms on two floors of a small mansion in a large clearing. The office was located in an old communal apartment that survived the next repair. The plaster on the stairs crumbled, the floor was sniffed and whistled, the doors did not always close.

A newspaper founded by Julian Semenov, a newspaper founded by Julian Semenov, whose circulation in the amount of 100 copies in those years was bought by the US Congress library, was a local watchman, a manager and a locksmith in one person, breeding in their apartment of chickens, so that the fragrances of the farm met each visitor “completely secret” on the stairs. Only the authors and the most important guests knew about the second door. On that day, the guest came through a back door.

Secret meetings in Kolpachny Lane

After a couple of weeks, a material was released in the newspaper, which was discussed the very next day in the highest offices of the Russian authorities. The editorial phone was torn: readers asked where to buy a newspaper; Deputies of the State Duma tried to understand how much the material corresponds to historical truth; Familiar officers of the FSK (as the FSB was called then) asked for the original text and just in case clarified whether the Kremlin was in the course.

The Borovitskaya tower of the Kremlin was visible from the editorial window from the third floor. But then, in the winter of the 95th, no one coordinated newspaper texts with either the FSC or with the presidential administration.

The media medium of that time breathed and lived with freedom. The very one that is "better than the non -freedom." Is the Kremlin in the know? He can subscribe. The mail works.

The material was called the "Operation" "Golgotha". Its author, who also invisibly left the editorial office after the manuscript, was Mikhail Petrovich Lyubimov, retired colonel of foreign intelligence. In his material, the former resident of the PSU ( the first Main Directorate of the KGB of the USSR - approx. Ed. ) In London and Copenhagen, first spoke about his personal and absolutely confidential meetings with the ex-chairman of the KGB Yuri Andropov in February 1983, when Andropov already headed the country, becoming the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party.

These meetings, which were held in the atmosphere of strict secrecy in the KGB conspiratorial apartment in the mansion in Kolpachny Lane, where the founder of Smersha and the State Security Minister Viktor Abakumov were once dedicated to compile a scenario of political reforms in the Soviet Union under the coden name “Perestroika”. Slightly running ahead, it is worth saying that the article “Golgotha ​​Operation” years later became the foundation of a historical and journalistic myth that the plot of perestroika was written in the offices of Lubyanka. The main figure of this myth is the former chairman of the KGB of the USSR, the Vizioner and the Strategist of Reforms.

The feeling of an ambulance, Yuri Andropov, according to Mikhail Lyubimov, considered it necessary to urgently modernize the political model of the USSR, begin democratic transformations, cancel censorship and move on to market reforms. “The Golgotha ​​plan included four stages: the systemic collapse of the existing political and economic structure of the USSR, a coup and change of power in the country, forced and chaotic implementation of market mechanisms in the economy. But all these measures, according to the design chairman of the KGB, were supposed to lead to the opposite result - "to the socialist revolution and the annihilation of the Comprador bourgeoisie."

The name "Operation" Golgotha ​​"was chosen by Andropov it is no coincidence: the sacrificing of the Soviet system as a sacrifice of the Secretary General of the Central Committee considered a forced measure. “Wild capitalism” and the painful experience of introducing political freedoms in the country not ready for changes should “resurrect” the ideals of socialism and prepare the country for the “second coming”, to the power of the new Stalin.

According to Andropov, the words of which was given in the article by Mikhail Lyubimov, decades later the new leader of the country will inevitably return to the implementation of the main idea of ​​Stalin, who dreamed, but did not manage to create an ideal state - a “socialist monarchy with support for the authorities”. Andropov during one of the conspiracy meetings in Kolpachny Lane uttered the most important phrase: "Love for socialism will grow out of hatred of capitalism."

Secret tips inside the plot

The article “Operation of Golgotha” by Mikhail Lyubimov is not a paraphrase, that is, not a retelling of a historical plot with a slope in the interpretation. This material could rather be called an apocryphus - a text that did not enter the canon of history. Religious tradition knows many free interpretations of biblical plots that were not included in the gospel, because they were doubtful.

The “Way to the Calvary”, which the Soviet Union passed to the end, could not be invented in the conspiracy apartment of the KGB. There are many reasons for the collapse of the USSR, but in this historical plot “Lubyanka’s hands” has never been.

The attentive reader even then, in the summer of the 95th, could notice several tips that were supposed to make him doubt the veracity of the narrative. The text was accompanied by illustrations made in Photoshop: Andropov and Lyubimov in Karelia, Yeltsin and Lyubimov near the monument in the Haiga cemetery in London, Lyubimov in the photo of the hanged political prisoner in Lubyanka - all this was a fake.

In the plot itself, which looked very organic and was designed in the style of the classical detective, fake episodes were also intentionally incorporated: of course, Galina Starovoitov did not help the KGB develop a script for the introduction of private property, Sazhi Umalatova could not have a novel with Boris Yeltsin, the View program was not invented on Lubyanka, but Zhirinovsky was not Zhirinovsky Agenter "Mossada".

Everyone who read the article “Golgotha ​​Operation” in the summer of the 95th year, of course, remembered how four years earlier, on the night of August 21 to 22, 1991, the crowd demolished the monument to Dzerzhinsky on Lubyanskaya Square, and a couple of days later the chairman of the KGB of the USSR, the chairman of the KGB of Andropov, was sent to the chamber of the Sailor Sailor Sailor. Was this plot also invented by the Chekists? Finally, to suggest that the memoir-Roman Lyubimov was written in the genre of fantastic anti-utopia, the name itself was to: the USSR-not Christ at all.

But the most interesting began a little later. Almost everyone believed in the existence of the secret plan “Operation“ Golgotha ​​”. Either the fear of the KGB was still so strong, or Vera in the superpower of this structure came to life in the historical memory of Russian officials, but representatives of all law enforcement agencies, the presidential administration and the State Duma called the editorial office. Everyone needed one main document - the operation plan signed by Yuri Andropov. Aside Mikhail Lyubimov, the Secretary General signed him in an apartment in Kolpachny Lane a few days before his death. Of course, we had no plan for one reason - Andropov did not sign anything. But no one believed in it anymore.

Finally, a telegram from Galina Starovayaova came to the newspaper, who asked to publish the text: “I inform the editorial office that I don’t know any love; The CPSS-KGB has never been in his party. ” After that, Mikhail Lyubimov wrote a refutation himself.

The veteran of Soviet intelligence, a brilliant intellectual speaking in several languages, a charming interlocutor, Mikhail Lyubimov wrote that the text “Golgotha ​​Operation” is the fantasy of the author, who gave him so many hints that it was impossible not to figure out the plan.

30 years later

After a quarter of a century, I understand that with his memoir-romance, the author wanted to warn his readers and his country from possible mistakes on the new path of the market and democracy, which can expand it in the opposite direction. Wild capitalism, offshore economics, arbitrariness and injustice, violation of human rights, unequal property rights and corruption can destroy the good idea of ​​any reform. And then the Stalinist idea of ​​the "socialist monarchy based on the organs" will be reanimated. And "out of hatred of capitalism, a love of socialism will grow." Just as allegedly bequeathed Andropov.

Lyubimov did not write that in the KGB of the USSR, who changed his name several times, but not the essence, every mistake and every miss on the difficult path of the country will be used immediately. But this thought, of course, was clear.

I do not know which of today's politicians read the material “Operation“ Golgotha ​​”. Maybe that's it. Maybe nobody. I do not know if readers believed the veracity of the script “Operation” or not. But I know that almost everything that was presented in that fantastic plot, came true after 30 years. The answer to the question "Why?" You will have to look for a long time, but it is necessary to find it. At least for the next generations. In order not to send them to Calvary too.

And now we are going uphill again. Only a few understand what is ahead. It seems to someone that this is a parade and a military march. Someone is that this is a holiday of jam or cookies on the boulevards of Moscow. Forgetting a lot, having stopped the time, crossing out the story, we again go along the same road and think that this is upstairs.
