Russia

Official position . The ceasefire is only after the "elimination of the root causes" of the conflict. Four regions and Crimea must be recognized by Russian. Sanctions must be lifted. Ukraine must refuse to join NATO.

Unofficial . Ready for the complete freezing of the conflict if the Armed Forces of Ukraine leave the Donbass. We are ready to discuss the truce in the air without additional conditions.

USA

Official position. The main goal is to achieve an immediate ceasefire. It is necessary to “reduce” Putin and Zelensky. If Putin does not agree to cease fire, new sanctions are waiting for Russia. The "section" of Ukraine will not be discussed. Expectations from the meeting are low.

Unofficial. They are ready to actually recognize Russian conquests and lift sanctions in exchange for a ceasefire - but without guarantees that Ukraine will not become a member of NATO . They admit military and economic control of Russia over the occupied territories - without legal recognition.
