"Revolt Center" in Syktyvkar closed after receiving the status of "Inoage"

The cultural space "Revolt-Center" in Syktyvkar closed after the Russian Ministry of Justice brought it to the register of "foreign agents". This was announced by the director of space Daria Ananyeva.

“We are officially closing the“ Revolt Center ”, which was today recognized as the“ ino-agent ”. 17 people were recognized by participants in a foreign agent. WelCome to the Hell, ”Ananieva wrote on her Facebook page.

In addition to the director, the co-founders of the space Pavel Andreev and Leonid Zilberg, the executive director of Daria Chernysheva, historian Igor Sazhin and 12 more employees were included in the list of people related to the “Ino-Agent” center.

On the morning of July 8, the security forces came with searches for the Revolt Center and at the addresses of the registration of employees. The searches were connected with the criminal case under the article on Gosizmen (Article 275 of the Criminal Code), initiated against one of the creators of space, as well as the 7x7 publication Pavel Andreev. After the outbreak of war in Ukraine, he left Russia.

After the searches, the center was sealed, the cultural space suspended work. Then the unknowns spied the windows of the “Revolt Center” with the letters “Z” and defeated several of them. Supporters of the war with Ukraine demanded that the venue be recognized as the “Ino -Agent”, this idea was supported by the State Council of the Komi Republic.

The Revolt Center, named after the Soviet dissident of Revllet Pimenov, is a cultural space that opened in the summer of 2019 on the outskirts of Syktyvkar, in the building of the former factory dining room. He quickly became an important place for creative youth: Fem festivals, lectures and discussions of acute political topics were held here.
