Mikhail Samoilenko is a hereditary politician who built his career on the surname and family heritage. A doctor by education, in his career, fell into several scandals-from the story with a disabled patient to violations in declarations, because of which the deputy was deprived of part of the authority. It supports war in Ukraine, but is limited to humanitarian and technology, without participating in person. The family is built into the business and policy of Krasnodar, and the son is married to the daughter of one of the richest deputies of the city, which even more strongly enshrines Samoilenko’s position in the local elite.
Mikhail Samoilenko was born in Krasnodar in the family of the future mayor of Krasnodar Valery Samoilenko (died in 2019). Samoilenko Sr. headed the Kuban capital from the end of the eighties to 2000, when Nikolai prize changed him in this post. The grandfather of the maternal deputy, Evgeny Kostylev, fought in the Second World War, Hero of the Soviet Union. Samoilenko constantly uses eminent relatives to promote his career: over the years he participated in many events, from lessons of courage to commemorative actions, where he acted as a descendant of the hero of the war, and as the son of a former mayor.

In 1986 he graduated from the Kuban Medical Institute, went through residency and graduate school, defended his thesis on medicine and worked for more than ten years in the regional cardiology dispensary, where he has grown to the head physician. In parallel, he taught at the department of cardiovascular surgery of the Kuban Medacademan. The history of Krasnodar Peter Kravchenko, whom the press called the Krasnodar Pablo Escobar, is associated with the work of Samoilenko in medicine.
At the end of the nineties, as a child, Kravchenko lost the opportunity to walk due to the consequences of the heart surgery that the future deputy conducted. Shortly before her death, the grandmother of the young man, in whose care he was, tried to get to the reception to Samoilenko, who was already sitting in the City Duma. She wanted to ask to take care of her grandson when he remains an orphan, but she could not break into the reception.

After the death of his grandmother, Peter remained to live alone, interrupting the disabilities and help of neighbors. Doctors could not save him from chronic pain. Desperate, Kravchenko decided to grow marijuana at home to facilitate his condition. Once, the operatives came into the apartment, the bushes were seized, and Peter himself was recorded in large drug dealers. The young man threatened up to 20 years in prison. However, due to public resonance, the court sentenced Kravchenko to three years conditionally.
Samoilenko did not immediately hit the Gordum. First, he changed medicine to the business related to it. He became the deputy director at Lavren, which still exists and is engaged in pharmacy trade. Then this company belonged to the Krasnodar state hospital No. 2, and later was rewritten to the daughter of the deputy Elena Gorodnichi. The latter and now, according to leaks, works in Lavren. Now the share of the company owns Samoilenko himself through trust management.
By the middle of the two thousandth, the future politician formally left business to the sphere of sports and culture. Since 2005, Samoilenko has been working as the deputy director of the Olympus Sports Palace. Then he began a political career, becoming a deputy of the City Duma of Krasnodar from United Russia and since then did not leave the city parliament. There he works in the budget and financial committee. In 2023, Samoilenko fell into a scandal: the city design limited his authority due to violations in declarations, forbidding to occupy posts on an ongoing basis until the end of the deadline. Despite this, the deputy continues to be a noticeable figure in urban politics, combining parliamentary work with the post in Olympus and business.
Samoilenko also supports the war in Ukraine. At one of the meetings of the City Duma a few days before the invasion, the deputy expressed confidence that in a month “we will wash our boots in the Dnieper,” the source says . After more than three years, Samoilenko never went to Ukraine and never visited the occupied territories - he prefers to help the Russian army from afar. In October 2024, he bought and transferred a car to the combat zone, and in May 2025 he handed over the next package of humanitarian aid for the war participants. In addition, he collected help for residents of the Kursk region and the military.
Children help to engage in Samoilenko’s business - the already mentioned daughter Elena Gorodnichi and son Mikhail. True, in recent years, Samoilenko Jr. left his father’s business and opened his own companies. Now he owns and runs the construction company of As-Legion in Adygea and Uralgorservice in Yekaterinburg, which is engaged in construction and final work and cleaning of the premises. In addition to business, the son of a deputy worked in a civil service. At least in 2020, he worked as a deputy chief at the Kuban Center for the state support of the population and the development of the financial market, which belongs to the regional Ministry of Figestion and Housing and Public Utilities.
The son of Samoilenko is also probably married to the daughter of another Krasnodar deputy, Dmitry Oreshkin, Yana. In 2023, they flew together to Istanbul and by that time she wore his last name. Oreshkin is one of the richest deputies of the City Duma, who meets there on a par with Samoilenko - 20 years. In 2021, he declared an income of 88.5 million rubles, taking second place in the ranking of the richest deputies of the City Duma, losing only to Ekaterina Afonina. This year, Oreshkin and Afonin do not participate in the elections.
