American and European military have prepared guarantees for security guarantees for Ukraine

The command of the Armed Forces of the United States and some European countries presented the authorities with plans with security guarantees for Ukraine, Reuters writes with reference to sources.

The Pentagon statement says that planning experts have developed options for “proper consideration” by national security advisers. The Reuters source said that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a telephone conference with European colleagues, at which the proposed options were discussed. Earlier it was reported that Rubio will coordinate the development of possible guarantees.

The submitted plans suggest that European countries will provide the “lion's share” of forces that will participate in security guarantees, Reuters sources said. The final details have yet to be finalized, since in Washington they still “determine the scale of its role,” the agency writes.

According to Reuters, one of the proposed options was the sending of European troops to Ukraine - but with the transfer of the United States management and control over them. Also, options are studied, what could be US support from the air - from the provision of additional air defense systems to Ukraine to ensuring the baseless zone with the help of American fighters.

US President Donald Trump on August 19 stated that he excludes the sending of the US military to Ukraine, later vice president Jay Di Wence noted that the main part of security should be taken over.

The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, in turn, called one of the main results of the summit in the White House the fact that the Trump administration is, in principle, ready to participate in the USA in ensuring the post -war security of Ukraine. Previously, according to him, there were no such guarantees.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, after a summit in Alaska, said that Russia was “ready to work” on the provision of security guarantees to Ukraine. Later, the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov emphasized : Moscow considers unacceptable the deployment of American or European military in Ukraine.

North Korean commanders who fought in the Kursk region returned to their homeland. They were awarded by Kim Jong -un awards

The official media of North Korea published a report on the meeting of the country's leader Kim Jong-un in Pyongyang with high-ranking officers who took part in the battles of the Russian-Ukrainian war.

The official statement of Tsat spoke about the awards of the “commanders and fighters of foreign operating troops of the Korean People’s Army (KNA)” without specifying where exactly they fought.

The Wall Street Journal notes that among the awarded were Colonel Kim Yong Bock and Major General Sin Kum Chol, who were present at the Victory Parade in Moscow on May 9 and personally met with Vladimir Putin. In total, more than ten commanders were at the award ceremony in Kim’s personal account.

As WSJ notes, whether the military leaders will return to Russia, it is unclear. Analysts interviewed by the publication suggest that this may not happen: the North Korean military previously participated only in battles in Russia, helping the Russian military to knock the Armed Forces from the Kursk region. This allowed Pyongyan and Moscow to emphasize that their cooperation lies strictly within the framework of the Covenant on mutual assistance in defense, concluded in the summer of 2024.

Now, when the entire international recognized territory of Russia has been returned to the control of the troops of the Russian Federation, the participation of the North Korean military in battles in Ukraine could become a diplomatic problem, writes The Wall Street Journal. The return of the DPRK commanders to their homeland may indicate that the DPRK troops will no longer take part in the war.

But I repeat one thing as a mantra - no war is endless.
