In the highest Russian leadership, large -scale rearrangements are planned, says RTVI with reference to sources.

The start of the chain of the permutations was given by the Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov, who on the afternoon of August 25 filed an application for the post of chairman of the Supreme Court. His candidacy for this post will be the only one.

According to RTVI, the new general prosecutor will be the plenipotentiary representative of the president in the North-Western Federal District Alexander Gutsan.

The post of Permanent Representative at the National Security and Defense Council, says the channel, will be occupied by the head of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin. His department, in turn, will be headed by Minister of Justice Konstantin Chuychenko. Who will be appointed to his position, the RTVI source did not specify.

• The position of the head of the Supreme Court became vacant after the death of Irina Satosova in July 2025. Earlier, Vedomosti, citing sources, called Bastrykin one of the main candidates for the post of head of the Supreme Court.
