The Guardian: Another woman accused of harassment of the prosecutor Mus Karim Khan (this he issued a Putin arrest warrant)

As part of the investigation of the case of harassment in relation to the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (MUS), Karim Khan, the second woman made accusations, found out the newspaper The Guardian.

The certificate of the victim, who wished to maintain anonymity, dates back to 2009. She was then a little over 20 years old, and she was an internship at the khan, who was one of the leading lawyers in the protection of the Mus and other tribunals for war crimes in the Hague, the newspaper writes.

According to the woman, the behavior of the khan was a "constant onslaught". One of the first cases of harassment occurred in the court’s office, where, as she claims, he touched her breasts. Then Khan several times invited her to work to his home, where he sat next to her on the sofa, touched, kissed and tried to persuade to have sex with him. The victim says that “I felt a trap caught”, because it was important for her to get a positive letter of recommendation, and she had a choice: “either tolerate or leave.”

According to the sources of The Guardian, the victim’s story is largely echoing with accusations of harassment put forward earlier against the khan by his colleague. She talked about episodes of harassment of the period of 2023–2024.

Khan's lawyers call statements about his participation in any sexual harassment “completely false”. According to the defense, Khan provided the investigation with evidence that "completely contradicts the charges against him" and "by a number of significant signs, they prove that these accusations are clearly not true."

• In March 2023, Mus, at the request of Karim Khan, issued an arrest warrant of Vladimir Putin and the children's ombudsman Maria Lvovo-Belova on charges of illegally deporting children from the occupied regions of Ukraine to Russia. In May 2024, Khan also demanded to issue orders to arrest the Prime Minister of Israel Beniamin Netanyahu, the Minister of Defense of Yoav Gallant and three Hamas leaders.
• The beginning of an external investigation against Karim Khan became known in November 2024. At the same time, as The Guardian said, the prosecutor urged the victim to abandon his accusations, trying to influence her through phone calls and personally. Khan denied accusations of harassment, and also stated that they coincided with the campaign of disinformation against his office.
• In May 2025, Karim Khan went on an administrative vacation until the investigation was completed. In a letter to employees, he stated that this decision is connected with the growing pressure on him in the media.
