On August 27, in the city of Minneapolis (Minnesota), firing occurred at the church at the Catholic school of the Annunciation. Two children were killed 8 and 10 years old. 17 people were injured, including 14 children and three elderly people.
The shooting was led by a 23-year-old transgender woman Robin Westman. She blocked the exits from the church, laying wooden bars between the door handles, and opened fire on parishioners through stained glass windows.
The attack coincided with the beginning of the morning mass in the church - the first in the new academic year. Westman had a rifle, a shotgun and a gun with him. The police believe that she used all this weapon. Then Westman shot himself.

The suspect lived in the suburbs of Minneapolis. She had no criminal record, she legally acquired a weapon , only recently received permission for this. It was not known about her education and personal life - it was only reported that in 2025 she worked for several months in the store where cannabis was sold.
The neighbors responded about her parents kindly. According to them, the father and mother of Westman looked shocked, learning about shooting at a Catholic school. This school is well known to them-Westman studied there until 2017, and her mother worked as a secretary at the church in 2016-2021.
Journalists found out that in 2019, the mother of Westman, then a 17-year-old, filed a petition with a request to allow her child to change her name from Robert to Robin. The court did not object to the fact that Robin "identifies himself as a woman and wants her name to reflect this identification."
Nevertheless, representatives of the administration of Donald Trump, limiting the rights of Transperson, called Weshtman a man in their statements. Conservative activists in social networks took advantage of the arrow identity to present transgender people as prone to violence. The mayor of Minneapolis, Democrat Jacob Frey called not to spread hatred: “Anyone who uses [shooting] as a reason to denigrate the transgender community has lost a sense of humanity. We must act not out of hatred, but out of love for our children. ”
Law enforcement agencies believe that Westman did not have accomplices. According to the director of the FBI Kash Patel, the bureau investigates its actions as an "act of internal terrorism and crime on the basis of hatred directed against Catholics." The police chief of Mineapolis Brian Oʼhar did not yet call the motive of the suspect - according to him, investigators study the “manifesto”, which she laid out on the UTUB a few hours before the attack.

We are talking about a series of video - they are already deleted - in which the suspect shows his arsenal of weapons and a diary. It is written in English, but Cyrillic ( “I am AM A WORTHLLE LUZER” ), although there are also fragments in Russian (“Who am I? When will it end?”). Westman also covered his weapons with inscriptions in Russian (“Vodka and RB”) and the names of mass killers. Among them was Vladislav Roslyakov - a student of the Kerch College, who in 2018 killed 20 people in his educational institution, and then committed suicide.
Even in the video you can notice the FSB strip. What is the interest of Westman in Russia and why she wrote in the diary of Cyrillic, it has not yet been explained. It can be assumed that Cyrillic was chosen for conspiracy - Westman admitted that she wanted to "throw out his thoughts without falling under observation."

Judging by the videos, Westman had racist and anti -Semitic views. She was fixated on mass killings, especially in educational institutions, and also wanted to do something similar. “Unfortunately, because of my depression, anger and twisted mind, I want to commit the last act that I have been thinking about for many years,” she wrote in her diary.
The young woman talked about the attack on children or famous people, in particular, Donald Trump. She also drew in the diary the scheme of the church hall, probably from the school of the Annunciation. At the same time, she wrote that she did not fully understand why she was going to go to the murder: “I can’t point out a specific goal. <...> I do not want to do this to spread the message. I do this to please myself. I do it because I'm sick. "
According to CNN, the attack in the Catholic school in Minneapolis has already become the 44th case of firing in the United States since the beginning of 2025. Half of them occurred in colleges, the rest - in the territory of schools. As a result, a total of 18 people were killed, at least at least 74 people were injured. CNN notes that after the start of the Pandemia of Coronavirus, the number of jokes in the United States increased sharply. For example, since the beginning of this year, more incidents with shooting have already been recorded than in 2018.
