Kommersant: in Moscow, the former director of the Satire Theater Mamedali Agayev was detained

In Moscow, during a joint operation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the FSB, the former head of “one of the largest theaters” was detained, said the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk.

The name of the detainee and the theater are not called in the message, however, Kommersant and the Telegram channel “112” with reference to sources write that we are talking about the former director of the satire theater Mamedali Agayev.

The wolf said that the detainee was suspected of theft in the amount of 20 million rubles. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, he concluded fictitious copyright agreements with his own theater and thus received a percentage of cash fees as the author of scenarios of performances.

• Agayev was the director of the satire theater from 1992 to 2021, officially he left this post of his own free will. Agayev is an honored cultural worker and Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.
