The total number of Russian soldiers who died in the war reached 220 thousand people

Since the beginning of the full -scale invasion of the Russian Federation, at least 220 thousand Russian military were killed in Ukraine, follows from the new calculation of Medusa and Mediazones.

The calculation is carried out on the basis of the data of the register of hereditary cases - against the backdrop of Rosstat’s refusal to publish data on general mortality in Russia, this register remains the only reliable source about the number of dead. The general method is as follows: journalists look at the ratio of the number of men who have fallen into the register of women and compare it with the pre -war indicator - the difference allows us to estimate the number of dead in the war.

According to the authors of the study, the data show that the weekly losses of the Russian troops are growing and "as if they are going to a new level of intensity every year." In 2024, they reached record values ​​- more than two thousand people a week lost in separate segments of the RF Armed Forces.

In total, last year, a study showed, about 93 thousand Russian troops were killed. In 2023, the losses killed almost half as much - 53 thousand people.

For losses in 2025, journalists used a predictive model - since hereditary matters can open within six months after death. Assessments show that as of the end of August, 56 thousand Russian military were killed since the beginning of the year.

The total number of losses from the beginning of a full -scale war, thus, the authors of the study are estimated at 220 thousand people.

Rescue work was completed in Kyiv on the site of a destroyed five -story building

Emergency services completed rescue work in the Darnitsky district of Kyiv, where, as a result of a Russian blow, a five -story building was destroyed the day before.

According to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klimenko, emergency search work in Kiev continued continuously for more than 30 hours. In the course of work, 17 people were saved from the rubble, he said.

According to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, now it is known about 22 who died at the site of the collapse, among them are four children.

In total, as a result of a Russian attack in Kyiv, 23 people were killed, another 53 were injured. According to Zelensky, the fate of eight people still remains unknown.

Zelensky once again called on foreign partners to strong sanctions against the Russian Federation. “When, instead of diplomacy, Russia chooses ballistics, continues to modernize Shahda for murders and develops interaction with such subjects as North Korea, this means that the world should react accordingly. Strong sanctions, strong pressure, strong steps are needed so that the killers do not feel impunity, ”he said.

The day before, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow does not see the contradictions in striking in Ukraine against the backdrop of peace negotiations. According to him, Russia “retains its interest in continuing the negotiation process”, but at the same time, “the special military operation continues and the Russian armed forces perform their tasks - they continue to beat the objects of military and launched infrastructure.”

In recent months, the Russian military has significantly enhanced the intensity of the shelling of Kyiv. Since the beginning of the summer, nine massive attacks have occurred, which led to the victims. The largest in terms of the number of dead were attacks on June 17 (28 dead and more than 130 victims) and July 31 (28 dead, more than 150 victims).

I remember the day when it all started, I hurt, woke up in the morning and immediately reached for the phone, we already had about 9-10 in the morning and a video and photos with the consequences of strikes in Ukraine began to appear. I read this, in horror I left the house, Katafalk drove along the road. I remembered this for life, something inside broke out forever [...].

At first, like everyone else, I had a hope for the soon end of the war, but now almost four years have passed. I still support this hope. Sometimes I imagine a sunny morning when I open telegrams and see the news there that it all ended, that people will no longer die, and a huge stone will fall from the soul. On this day, I will run out into the street and see people who will also read relief in my eyes!

But now these are only dreams. The most terrible things are happening in reality. First of all, so many people die that it is impossible to realize these scale. I do the exercises so that my heart does not flow: when I see the next messages about the dead, I immediately represent families who lose dear people, their terrible grief. It is necessary to do this injection of pain so as not to start turning to close to horror. It is scary to denigrate, it is scary to become blind, it’s scary to live in a country that wages a war, but at the same time love your country. Scary.
