In the Pshad forestry area near Gelendzhik on August 28, a fire started after debris from a Ukrainian drone fell, and 3.2 hectares caught fire in the area of the village of Krinitsa. More than 40 rescuers and 11 pieces of equipment, as well as a Mi-8 helicopter from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, were sent to extinguish the fire.

By 12 noon, according to the operational headquarters of the Krasnodar Territory, the fire area was already 14 hectares. There were several fires - 6 hectares in Krasnaya Shchel, 5 hectares in Grekovaya Shchel, 1 hectare in Temnaya Shchel and 2 hectares in the area of the village of Beregovoe. Later, the mayor of Elendzhik, Alexey Bogodistov, reported that the fire area had grown to 17 hectares. 249 people, more than 68 pieces of equipment, as well as EMERCOM aviation and a BE-200 aircraft were involved in the extinguishing.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations said that the fire trapped 23 people on the Black Sea coast near Gelendzhik. A boat was sent to rescue them. According to Bogodistov, the recreation center was evacuated. A temporary stay center was set up on the basis of a rural school.
As the Agency notes , the village of Krinitsa is located just 10 km in a straight line from Vladimir Putin’s palace on Cape Idokopas. The FBK investigation into the palace stated that 7,000 hectares of land around it belong to the FSB: most of the intelligence service's holdings are located on the right bank of the Chanhat River, and the Dark Gap is located approximately 2.5 km west of the river. On August 28, the day the debris fell near Gelendzhik, Russian air defense, according to the Ministry of Defense, “intercepted and destroyed” 102 Ukrainian drones. Several drones, however, reached their target and attacked oil refineries in the Samara region and Krasnodar region, as well as ammunition depots and logistics facilities involved in supplying the Russian military.
At the same time, Russia fired 598 drones, two Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles, nine Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, and 20 Kh-101 cruise missiles into Ukraine. In Kyiv, 15 people were killed as a result of the attack.
