The Russians will have the opportunity to take a new smartphone purchased from September 1 as a poor -quality - in the event that the Rustore application store is not installed on it, or if it is technically impossible to install it to the user himself. This was stated in a comment by TASS Senator Artem Sheikin.
The innovation, according to Sheikin, applies to iPhones.
But on the iPhones, at least those that are already in Russians now, it is technically impossible to install rustore - this is an application for Android.
On September 1, the law enters into force, obliging the suppliers of gadgets to install a Russian application store on the devices, or to ensure the technical possibility of installing it by the user himself.
The norms obliging to establish Russian software on new foreign gadgets are designed to “strengthen technological independence” and ensure the interests of Russian users, Senator Sheikin explained.
The Russian Rustore app all allows the user to download and update Russian applications, some of which are blocked in foreign apps (for example, banking), as well as pay for Russian and, according to bloggers, foreign services, including those who have left the Russian market.
“The Kiosk section looks very interesting: through it you can pay for a variety of services that have left Russia. This will be especially useful to gamers, because here you can replenish the Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, Twitch, Fortnite, Genshin Impact, Roblox ... even Netflix! ”-says in the fresh blog of the Retail Company "Eldorado", specializing in electronics.
But you can still install the Rustore on your own only on Android smartphones, having previously enabled a permission to install programs from unverified sources in the phone settings.
