In 2019, Yandex agreed with the FSB plan for installing equipment for monitoring users and partially installed it at least by the beginning of 2022. This is evidenced by the relevant decisions of the courts, writes "Agency".
In March 2022, the court fined Yandex for 10 thousand rubles for failure to comply with the order to provide round -the -clock access to his system. At the same time, the defense claimed that this access has already been issued.
A year later, the courts were fined Yandex, Yandex.Dud and Yandex.Vertical for the failure to provide the FSB “Information necessary for decoding ... electronic messages of users” of several services. In particular, it was a question of transportation keys that are used to protect data when transmitting them through networks. In one of the decisions, the company promised in the third quarter to start data decoding work.
Subsequently, the company was fined several more times for failure to fulfill the requirements for equipment for monitoring users and failure to provide information about couriers.
“The fact that the FSB at the beginning of 2023 requested transportation keys to some of the services indicates that the equipment of the Yandex SOM has already worked and the special services of the special service saw, but could not decipher it,” the co -founder of the Internet Protection Society Sergey Boyko told the agency.
Equalitie employee Andrei Nosov in a conversation with journalists suggested that, according to the court decision, now the FSB and Yandex cooperation process at the “final stage”, “some final things are settled”.
