The Armed Forces of Ukraine were struck by the Forer sanatorium in Crimea

Late on Sunday evening, Ukrainian drones attacked the foros sanatorium in the Crimea annexed by Russia.

As the head of the Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, stated by Russia, the blow fell on the territory of the sanatorium, as well as the school building in the village. According to the Russian authorities, three people were killed, another 16 were injured. 12 victims are hospitalized, four are in serious condition.

The Russian Investigative Committee opened a criminal case of a terrorist attack. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation claims that there are no military facilities in the area where a blow was struck.

The sanatorium in Foros in Soviet times was a departmental object where the party elite was resting and was the residence of the President of the USSR. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the sanatorium was owned by the Ukrainian oligarch Igor Kolomoisky, and after the annexation of Crimea, Russia was nationalized. Ukrainian media wrote that in recent years, Russian senior officials often rested there.

Today, information has spread in Ukrainian telegram channels that in Foros at the time of the blow could be the “chapter” of the Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo, appointed by Russia. These data were not confirmed by independent sources. TASS, citing the press service of Saldo, wrote that he was on a business trip in Moscow.

The Russian shadow fleet includes every sixth tanker in the world

Already about 17% of all oil tankers in the world are now included in the Russian shadow fleet, created to bypass the EU and the United States for the sale of Russian oil, writes The New York Times with reference to S&P Global Market Intelligence.

The number of these tankers is invariably growing - at the beginning of 2025, 940 vessels were included in the shadow fleet, according to researchers, 45% more than a year earlier.

Most of them, according to The New York Times, are old tankers, they are exploited for about 20 years (usually such vessels have been used for 13 years). They often do not include transponders so that it is more difficult to track the possible place for loading them.

Journalists note that the old vessels have a higher risk of oil spill. In addition, many transportation remains unhurried - since companies in the jurisdiction of the countries of the Big Seven and the European Union cannot provide them with insurance services, which also increases potential environmental consequences from possible disasters.

At the same time, the use of the shadow fleet really allows Russia to practically not notice the damage from sanctions related to restrictions on the sale of oil, writes Ny Times. The US Accounts Chamber in early September in its report came to the conclusion that in this way, Russia manages to “limit the effectiveness” of the prohibitions imposed on it. “Sanctions do not withdraw Russian tankers from business. They get them out of legal business, ”said one of the experts surveyed by Ny Times.

On September 19, the European Commission introduced the 19th package of sanctions against Russia, which also included sanctions against 118 shadow fleet veins (now more than 500 ships are already contained in black lists). Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barro said that this package was agreed with the United States-this happened for the first time after Donald Trump returned to the White House.

As part of a new package, Russian oil prices are planned to reduce to $ 47.6 per barrel from $ 60. The market value of a barrel of Urals oil is now about $ 61.

Now I see Medusa in the news: war, 1305th day. I catch myself thinking that I no longer read and do not think. It did not care. It lasts so long that it turned into everyday life. This feeling has long. Everywhere where you meet “your own” (Russians against the war or Ukrainians), if you have Small Talk, then everything is reduced to war. Reality froze. Nothing changes, continuous conversations that something will happen to change-but reality is in place. People die. Everyone is already used to it. I am sorry that I cannot share the pain of everyone I met, who went through hell.
