Poland decided to open the border with Belarus

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that the country's authorities decided to again open the border with Belarus.

Border checkpoints for passenger and freight transport will resume work on the night of September 25.

• Poland unilaterally completely closed the border with Belarus from September 12. This was done against the backdrop of the Russian-Belarusian military exercises of the West 2025, which took place from September 12 to 16 in Belarus. The border was closed indefinitely.
• On the night of September 10, about 20 Russian drones flew into the territory of Poland. In response to this, Poland and her NATO allies lifted fighters into the air. Some of the drones were shot down - this is the first time that the drones of Russia knocked over the territory of NATO. In response, the alliance announced the launch of the Operation East Guard (Eastern Sentry) to strengthen the defense of the eastern flank of Europe.
