Electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla on October 7 presented its “most affordable cars” - Model Y Standard and Model 3 Standard.

“Ultra-low cost of ownership, safety, and the best Tesla features you love,” Tesla said on Social Media X.

Prices for the Model Y Standard, excluding delivery and fees, start at $40,000, and for the Model 3 Standard at $37,000. Both models are available for order, with deliveries scheduled for December 2025.

According to Tesla, the range of both cars is approximately 515 kilometers. Both electric cars received a 15.4-inch infotainment system screen, an integrated voice assistant based on Grok, heated first-row seats, a heated steering wheel and a two-tone interior made of textiles and eco-leather.

According to The Verge, the Model 3 Standard and Model Y Standard are based on updated models known as “Highland” and “Juniper”, which came out in 2024 and 2025, respectively.

At the same time, Tesla removed many standard options from the stripped-down versions. The company abandoned the front and rear light beams, folding electric mirrors, a display for the second row of seats and lights near the doors. In addition, the 19-inch wheels were replaced with more compact 18-inch ones, and the automatic steering function was abandoned in the driver assistance system. The Model Y Standard doesn't have a panoramic glass roof, but the Model 3 Standard does.

Car coloring is limited to standard gray, as well as white (+$1000 to the cost of the car) or black (+$1500).
