On October 7, Vladimir Putin celebrates his 73rd birthday. Every year, in honor of the dictator’s birthday, actions are held throughout Russia or public congratulations are published. In the third year of a full-scale war with Ukraine, telegrams came from only a few foreign leaders, and only the most loyal officials and civil servants distinguished themselves within the country.

Dmitry Peskov said that Putin will hold an operational meeting with permanent members of the Security Council on October 7 in the afternoon. According to him, this was done “not so much so that the permanent members of the Security Council could congratulate the president, but [connected] with the work agenda.”

“There are probably personal plans, of course. A birthday is a birthday. But I also know about the workers,” the Kremlin spokesman said.

Before the meeting at the Security Council, Putin received a call from Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. The politicians spoke for the first time after security forces in Yekaterinburg staged a raid on dozens of ethnic Azerbaijanis in June 2025. They were suspected of murders committed in 2001–2011. Deputies of the State Duma at the plenary session allocated time to congratulate Putin on his birthday.

“We are lucky to have you. The Russian Federation is led by a strong President. Today is Vladimir Vladimirovich’s birthday. Let's congratulate him! If there is Putin, there is Russia,” said State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin.

In his opinion, Russia went through “enormous trials” and only with the election of Putin did it find itself and get up from its knees”:

— Today it is the largest economy in Europe, the fourth in the world, and the largest in terms of territory. All these challenges that we face can only be overcome by a country led by a strong President who is supported by society. We must be more united than ever around the head of state.

Instructions for officials

Officials received instructions on how to properly congratulate Putin, the Agency found . Journalists looked at posts under this tag and found congratulations from officials and politicians at various levels, for example, from Senator Ruslan Smashnev, head of the Guryevsky municipal district of the Kaliningrad region Alexei Kurilov, member of the Public Chamber of the Smolensk region Denis Pestunov. The Botnadzor project clarified that Kremlinbots also joined the action: they have already published 111 posts and reposts on VKontakte with the hashtag “#Congratulations from Donbass to Kamchatka.”

An action with the same name took place in Moscow. It was held by the Young Guard, and the participants lined up at VDNKh with the inscription “Congratulations from Donbass to Kamchatka.” As Groza wrote , students were offered to pay a thousand rubles for participation in the action and be given certificates.

This year, propagandists did not come up with anything new and congratulated Putin according to the standard scenario.

After this, the kindergarten students “became acquainted with the role of the head of state, learned about the symbols of Russia and what it means to be the leader of a great country.”

“The guys also learned that today is the president’s birthday, so it’s no coincidence that the lesson resulted in greeting cards with the symbols of our country, which the guys made with their own hands. For the guys, the president is a man who cares about Russia, and therefore about their future, but for us this is a lesson in respect for our country and its leader. Let every child in our country grow up under a peaceful sky and be happy,” the post says.

In the kindergarten at school 127 in Omsk, preschoolers sang the song “Daddy can do anything.” The word “dad” in it was replaced with “Putin”, and attention was drawn to “Caution, news.”

“Putin can, Putin can do anything. What Putin cannot do cannot happen. He is the main one in the country, since the light is on and does not go out. If they pay for gas regularly, if not, then there is no gas,” the children sing.

Meanwhile, in a kindergarten in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, children recorded a video greeting for the politician.
