The system administrator of the Hydra darknet market was sentenced to 21 years in prison

A court in Yaroslavl sentenced to 21 years in prison a 37-year-old resident of St. Petersburg, who for 10 years maintained the server infrastructure of Hydra, formerly the world's largest darknet marketplace for the sale of narcotic substances.

As the prosecutor's office of the Yaroslavl region reported on October 8, the defendant was part of a criminal community engaged in the illegal sale of narcotic substances through a “hidden trading platform” on the Internet.

The statement from the prosecutor's office does not say what kind of platform this is, but it is noted that the criminal activities of the community were stopped in April 2022 (the same year Hydra ceased its work). The name of the defendant is also not being disclosed.

As Fontanka suggests , this is system administrator Boris Gubko, who was previously taken into custody in Moscow.
