The head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund continues to promote the implementation of the megaproject of the 60s of the 20th century - a network of tunnels and roads that would connect the polar territories of what is now Russia with the territory of the United States (via Alaska).

In a recent tweet, Dmitriev said : it turns out that RDIF has been preparing a feasibility study for the tunnel for six months.

Dmitriev put forward the idea of building the Putin-Trump tunnel on October 16, publishing a handwritten archival document from the 1960s. The plan for the Khrushchev-Kennedy Peace Bridge was contained in a trove of documents from the Soviet Kennedy Archive that Russia recently turned over to the Trump administration. The United States tried to obtain such a dossier back in the 90s. In Russia, as journalists found out, it was published, and the editor-compiler was the head of the SVR, Sergei Naryshkin.

Dmitriev called for the implementation of the Soviet megaproject as a new symbol of unity and cooperation, naming it after the current leaders of the Russian Federation and the United States.

Thanks to the technologies of the Boring Company, a businessman close to Trump and billionaire visionary Elon Musk, the cost of drilling a tunnel can be reduced by 8 times, and it will cost about $8 billion, part of which RDIF will be willing to cover, Dmitriev described.

According to the investor, the tunnel connecting the continents will reduce the time and reduce the cost of delivering goods to Russia, the USA and China.

REACTION
On October 17, during a meeting with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, Trump said that he had “heard” about the idea of a tunnel between Russia and Alaska, and it was “interesting.”
Then he asked Zelensky, who was sitting opposite:
— What do you think of this idea, Mr. President?
- I'm not happy with this idea.
“Yes, I think he’s not happy with her,” Trump agreed, continuing to answer the journalist.

Kirill Dmitriev, Putin’s appointed special representative for business negotiations with the United States and a businessman close to his entourage, flew to Alaska for the Putin-Trump summit. And before that, he always accompanied the visits of Trump negotiator Steve Witkoff to Russia and himself visited Washington for negotiations with the Trump administration, outlining there the Russian terms of the “grand deal” with the United States, also related to the terms of the peace settlement in Ukraine.
