The mayor's office of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky agreed for the third time on a rally against the recycling fee and the increase in VAT. In addition, according to activists from the RKP (i) Kamchatka, the rally is directed against the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Anton Alikhanov. Protesters intend to seek his resignation.

The action will take place on November 2 from 16 to 18 local time in the park on Sakhalinskaya Street - near the Lenin monument.

Earlier it became known that the introduction of new recycling collection rules was partially delayed after protests by residents of Vladivostok and Novosibirsk.

New rules for calculating the fee for cars imported from abroad should come into force on November 1. But for those who purchased vehicles in August-October, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will work out a deferment, RIA Novosti reports.

Prior to this, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade proposed changing the calculation methodology by including in the collection, in addition to indicators of the car’s age and engine size, also engine power. Experts believe that this could raise the price of cars by 25–50%. This fee is paid by automakers in Russia and all importers, including private individuals. It is mandatory to pay, it is charged on almost all types of road transport and self-propelled equipment. The authorities explained the measure by the budget deficit: the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Anton Alikhanov, stated that the new measure would help replenish it by 40–60 billion rubles.

In Vladivostok, activists from the organization “Red Priboi” collected 680 signatures against increasing the recycling fee during a rally on October 11. Hundreds of city residents came out to the rally, holding posters “First roads, then collection”, “There is scrap, but where are the factories?” and "Affordable cars - fair collection" . A similar action took place in Novosibirsk in the local Hyde Park after activist:kam was denied permission to hold a protest in the city center.
