The online cinema “Amediateka” cut out several scenes from the film “Fight Club”; footage with male hugs, mentions of suicide and names of male genital organs were censored, “Layout” drew attention.
The cinema cut out the scene where at a support group the main character hugs a man during one of the psychological exercises, and the phrase “Come there, cling to his tits, cry” is heard behind the scenes - only the following phrase “That’s where I found relief” was left.

Also censored was the scene where the characters of Edward Norton and Brad Pitt meet in the kitchen in the morning, and the voice-over describes it as follows: “We spent most of the week as an ideal married couple.”
In addition, Amediateka twice blurred out the image of the male genital organ in the film, and also completely cut out the phrase of Brad Pitt’s character: “Strong big dick,” deleting this scene.
The cinema censored the story of Helena Bonham Carter's character, where she mentions that she swallowed pills and could die. Amediateka also considered the mention of incest dangerous - in the ninth minute of the film, when the hero is looking at an advertisement with a list of psychological support groups, the platform blurred out the name of the group “for victims of incest” - and in the Russian subtitles only the word “incest” was removed, and in the image itself in English the entire phrase was blurred out.
On November 3, the Telegram channel “Commandant of the Cinema Fortress” noticed that several Hollywood films had returned to “Amediateka”. Among them are “The Revenant”, “Gone Girl”, “The Big Short”, “Deep Waters” and others.
Previously, “Layout” talked in detail about how Russian online platforms censor films and TV series .
