Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport decided to purchase a UAV detection and suppression system worth 781 million rubles, the corresponding tender was discovered by “Vorstka” on the government procurement portal.

As follows from the documents, 474 million were allocated for equipment, which also includes a radar station (148 million), detection devices (more than 200 million) and electronic jamming systems (more than 200 million). The rest of the money goes to design, work, technical support and the purchase of software licenses.

The main goal is “to increase the effectiveness of protection against drones in the Sheremetyevo transport security zone and on the approaches to it at a distance of three thousand meters.” The work must be completed within 330 days from the date of signing the contract.

At the same time, the contractor is required to integrate all systems with existing equipment: three ENOTE complexes (which include a radar, a video camera, a thermal imager and a signal suppression device), as well as a Kaspersky Antidrone scanner and jamming station and the Strizh 3M complex.

Sheremetyevo is one of the most affected Russian airports due to UAV attacks

Ukrainian drones regularly attack Russian airports, which is why they are forced to restrict flights. The last time a collapse, due to which hundreds of flights were canceled or delayed, occurred in July - Sheremetyevo suffered the most then. In November 2023, it is known that Sheremetyevo installed the RENOT radar system to protect against drones. In January 2025, Vedomosti wrote that the federal budget would not finance the protection of airports from UAVs - these tasks were assigned to the military and the airports themselves.

At Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport they are going to strengthen the fight against drone attacks by installing a new system for detecting and suppressing UAVs. The corresponding tender appeared on the government procurement portal on October 30, Vorstka discovered.

The contractor is required to “improve radar detection of airborne objects” and integrate the system with existing equipment: three ENOTE complexes (which include a radar, a video camera, a thermal imager and a signal suppression device), as well as a Kaspersky Antidrone scanner and jammer and the Strizh 3M complex.

The contractor needs to prepare the necessary documentation, bring and install the equipment, start all the processes, and then ensure its operation.
