The SBU opened a criminal case against Sergei Sobyanin for complicity in the war

The Security Service of Ukraine reported in absentia suspicion to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin of complicity in waging an aggressive war (Part 2 of Article 437 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, punishable by imprisonment for a term of 10 to 15 years).

According to the intelligence service, the mayor of Moscow is using his own administrative resources to promote Russia’s war against Ukraine. According to Ukrainian investigators, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Sobyanin “mobilized” almost 90 thousand Moscow residents to the front.

Also, the investigation notes, the official helps the Russian Ministry of Defense to deploy additional places for mobilized and new enterprises of the Russian military-industrial complex, and also attracts the utility companies Mosvodokanal and Mosgaz controlled by him to equip fortifications and fortified areas in the occupied areas of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.

“Since the attacker is on Russian territory, comprehensive measures are ongoing to bring him to justice for crimes against our state,” the SBU press release says.
