Axios: The United States has stopped arms supplies to NATO countries due to the shutdown. This could affect military aid to Ukraine

The supply of American weapons to NATO allies has ceased amid the US government shutdown, which has been going on for 40 days, Axios reports, citing a State Department assessment.

According to the publication, amid the shutdown, arms deliveries worth more than five billion dollars were postponed. We are talking about the supply of AMRAAM missiles, Aegis and HIMARS combat systems to Denmark, Croatia and Poland.

Journalists note that they do not know for whom the weapons in these deliveries are actually intended. They admit that the consequences of the shutdown could affect military assistance to Ukraine.

A senior State Department official told Axios that the department's politico-military bureau had only a quarter of its staff working during the October shutdown. He said the government shutdown "hurts both our allies and partners and the U.S. industry that supplies many of these critical supplies overseas."
