Three people were killed and 15 injured as a result of a strong storm on the Spanish resort island of Tenerife, Euronews reports, citing local authorities.
Waves hit beaches in different parts of the island and dragged people along with them. Among the dead are a 79-year-old Dutch citizen, a 43-year-old local resident and another man, whose identity has not been disclosed.
Since Friday, November 7, the Canary Islands ( Tenerife is the largest island of this archipelago - Ed. ) have been warning of storms and strong waves, the height of which can reach four meters. Local authorities say people were injured because they ignored warnings about the danger.
