Assumptions about surveillance of Russians on the Internet do not concern the Max messenger, the head of Dagestan Sergei Melikov said on his direct line, Vorstka noted. He also noted that the messenger sometimes does not help with mobile communications restrictions in the region.

“The fact that we are being watched is absolutely clear. Behind everyone. Some are from outer space, some are scammers, some are wives, some are husbands, some are watching us all. But I'm far from thinking that all this is done through Max. Max is our national product. And I believe that our national products should be trusted just as we trust our khinkal or clean water, or each other,” said the head of the republic.
Melikov noted that he himself uses Max and that “sometimes” it even “saves” with “mobile communication restrictions” in the region. However, “sometimes it doesn’t help, because the restrictions also affect him,” the official admitted. According to Melikov, today there is no need to have a large number of messengers and they are all “interchangeable.”
“But all these stories that are being followed, they sometimes reach the point of absurdity. If you don’t want to be followed, turn off all phones and instant messengers and use only a direct source of communication,” Melikov concluded.
Previously, “Vorstka” reported that regions almost do not purchase services to inform the audience about their work in the Max messenger . They continue to spend money on posts and maintaining channels on Telegram and social networks. The only region that specifies Max as a site for placing materials is the Novosibirsk region.
More than 20 well-known officials, parliamentarians and propagandists did not register their channels in the Max messenger . Among them are Valentina Matvienko, Maria Zakharova and Dmitry Kiselyov.
