An explosion occurred at the Druzhba oil pipeline - media

On the night of December 1, an explosion occurred in Russia on a section of the Druzhba oil pipeline , through which oil is supplied to the countries of Eastern and Central Europe.

The incident allegedly happened near the settlement of Kazinskie Vyselki in the Tambov region - on a section of the oil pipeline that Ukrainian sources call “Taganrog - Lipetsk”, but, according to updated data from the ASTRA telegram channel, we can talk about the “ Tambov - Lipetsk ” section.

The explosion was reported by RBC-Ukraine, Ukrayinska Pravda, as well as UNIAN, hromadske and Suspilne, citing sources in the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. According to sources, explosives with remote detonation and additional flammable mixtures were used to intensify the fire. There is no official data on the consequences of the attack yet.

Local residents published videos of the explosion on social networks and reported a strong roar and bright flashes in the Kazinskiye Vyselki area. Ukrainian media also distributed a video of a possible explosion obtained from their sources.

Ukraine has repeatedly struck at Druzhba

Previously, Ukrainian forces have repeatedly attacked the infrastructure of the Druzhba oil pipeline. After previous strikes, oil supplies to Hungary and Slovakia were temporarily stopped, but then resumed. Against this background, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó threatened to stop the export of electricity to Ukraine if the attacks continued.

The Druzhba oil pipeline remains one of the key routes for transporting Russian oil to the countries of Eastern and Central Europe. Along the southern branch of Druzhba, passing through Ukraine, Russian oil flows to Hungary and Slovakia. The northern route leading to Poland and Germany has been stopped due to EU sanctions.

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski previously expressed hope that Ukraine would disable the Druzhba oil pipeline , through which Russian oil flows to Hungary. This is how the diplomat turned to his Hungarian colleague Peter Szijjártó, Vorstka reported. In response, the Russian Foreign Ministry called the Polish minister “Osama bin Sikorski.”
