In at least five regions of Russia, chats of houses, residential complexes and SNT are transferred to the “national messenger” Max from WhatsApp, the blocking of which was strengthened by Roskomnadzor at the end of November, Vorstka noted. Creation of house chats in Max accelerated after WhatsApp was blocked

Thus, in the Chelyabinsk region, the NSK Management Company announced on social networks that the work of existing house chats will be stopped due to the future blocking of foreign messengers. The company claims that there are already glitches, and the government is only deciding who will be responsible for creating groups in Max.

“Understanding the importance of preserving such an achievement of modern civilization as a general house chat, NKS LLC decided to independently create general house chats in the MAX messenger,” the management company indicated in the post.

In Obninsk, Kaluga region, the management company "UZHKH" recommended that residents switch to the chat at home in Max due to the partial "blocking of the WhatsApp messenger due to the requirements of Roskomnadzor" - the Criminal Code indicates that the group can be found in the personal account of the "State Services Home" application.

The owners of apartments in the residential complex “Spodvizhniki” under construction in Novosibirsk decided to independently change the platform for communication “in connection with new events” and chose Max. In Moscow, residents of one of the houses also decided to move from WhatsApp: “I made a chat in Max. Who should I add? It looks like WhatsApp has been sentenced to be switched off,” writes a resident of the house in the group.

SNT “Zarya-2” in Tomsk and “Kurchatovets” in Chelyabinsk also announced the transfer of communication to Max. The second partnership included a long-established chat in Telegram in the list of possible communication channels. A group in the national messenger was just created: “Dear gardeners. This chat was created as an alternative to WhatsApp. In this group we discuss garden problems without insulting each other,” the chat owner said in the first message.

The authorities announced the transfer of house chats to Max in November

In mid-November, Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services Irek Faizullin said that by the end of 2025, all house chats should be transferred to Max. The State Duma reported that the initiative will be advisory in nature. However, some regions have begun to report the creation of thousands of groups in the national messenger. At the same time, the Gosuslugi Dom application in the latest update has built in the function of joining a house chat in Max through the platform.

On November 28, Roskomnadzor announced the consistent introduction of restrictive measures on WhatsApp due to “violations of Russian legislation.” The agency added that if non-compliance with the norms continues, WhatsApp will be completely blocked in Russia.
