An An-22 aircraft of the Ministry of Defense crashed after repairs in the Ivanovo region. The outdated model was going to be discontinued last year.

An An-22 military transport plane crashed in the Ivanovo region, TASS writes with reference to operational services. According to the agency, there were seven people on board. Their fate is unknown.

“The plane crashed in a deserted area. A search and rescue team flew to the crash site to determine the fate of the crew,” the Ministry of Defense said .

It is reported that the board was making a routine flight after repairs. The accident occurred in the area of ​​the Uvodsky reservoir; fragments of the plane were found in the water.
