Ivan Urgant launched a YouTube channel

Showman Ivan Urgant posted the first video on his YouTube channel called “Live Urgant”. He congratulated the Russians on the upcoming New Year and read a poem about a snowflake and fate.

In the video, Urgant says that in 2025, he and his team filmed a lot of material from trips around the world. “In general, we will post what is posted,” says the showman.

Also at the beginning of the video, Urgant hints that the YouTube channel was planned to be based on the principle of the “Evening Urgant” show, which was aired on Channel One for a long time, but was closed after Urgant’s anti-war statement on the first day of the war in Ukraine.

“We did everything as usual: we installed liquid crystal screens, decorations, an orchestra... Two choirs, a children’s and an adult. Spectators: 700 people. All! 15 cameras, filming has started, I go out and suddenly. But stop, that’s not it,” Urgant says in the video.

At the end of the video, he congratulates the audience on the New Year and reads an excerpt from the poem: “A snowflake sat on the palm of your hand like a cold spider. Fate gave me three cards. I looked. Point!".

On February 24, 2022, Urgant posted a black square on Instagram with the caption: “Fear and pain. NO TO WAR." After an anti-war statement, he lost his show “Evening Urgant”, which he had hosted since 2012. He was also excluded from the New Year's film franchise "Christmas Trees". The TV presenter also stopped appearing on New Year's broadcasts and on television in general.

Despite this, Urgant continues to live and work in Russia. According to The New York Times, they repeatedly tried to “rehabilitate” the showman, but Vladimir Putin never forgave the artist.
