Illusionist Emil Keogh dies

Illusionist Emile Keogh has died at the age of 87. This was announced by the director of the Great Moscow State Circus, trainer Edgard Zapashny.

“I express my words of support to the family, friends and fans of the magnificent illusionist! May you rest in peace,” Zapashny wrote.

The real name of the illusionist is Emil Emilievich Renard-Keogh. He is the son of the Soviet circus artist Emil Teodorovich Renard-Keogh. Both performed under the pseudonym Emil Keogh.

Emil Keogh Jr. began performing in his father's attraction as an assistant in 1961. Later he created his own illusionary attraction, with which he toured the world.

In addition, Emil Keogh is known as the author of the column “Beyond the Focus,” which he wrote in the Young Technician magazine in 1976–1992. In it he told how to perform tricks.

Kio headed the Union of Circus Workers of Russia from 1991 to 2016.
