The FSB in the Perm region reported on the prevention of a terrorist attack and the detention of a man with 10 kilograms of explosives

In the city of Chusovoy, Perm Territory, with the support of the Russian Guard, a man was detained on suspicion of preparing a terrorist attack on a railway bridge. According to the official website of the FSB, 10 kilograms of explosives were found on him.

The detainee is a Russian born in 1972. According to the FSB, the man became a victim of telephone scammers and transferred 350 thousand rubles to so-called “safe accounts”. After this, the attackers, posing as law enforcement and intelligence officers, convinced him to make an explosive device under the pretext of helping to return the money. It is alleged that the discussion was about “checking the anti-terrorist security” of the region’s transport infrastructure.

The investigative department of the regional department of the FSB opened a criminal case on illegal trafficking in explosives. Cases may also be brought against the man for preparing for a terrorist attack and for illegally manufacturing explosives. According to the department, the attack was planned by Ukrainian special services. Based on the totality of charges, the detainee could face punishment up to life imprisonment.

On January 12, as RIA Novosti writes , the Leninsky District Court sent the man to a pre-trial detention center until February 28.

During a search of the detainee's house, they found about 10 kilograms of explosives, components for making explosive devices, as well as a webcam - it was allegedly needed to monitor the railway bridge.

In operational footage published by Moscow Speaks, bottles and bags with various substances are visible. These include glue, "acid" and metal shavings.
