
In Syktyvkar, when a flash-bang grenade exploded at a professional training center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, nine people were injured, four of them are in extremely serious condition, the Ministry of Health of the Komi Republic reported. The incident occurred on January 15 in the Ezhvinsky district of the city.
According to the Ministry of Health, “four were taken to the republican hospital, four more to the Ezhvinsk city hospital.” One person refused hospitalization and received medical assistance on the spot.
Due to heavy smoke, about 200 people were evacuated from the building. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that after the explosion a fire started in the building; its area exceeded 300 square meters.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported a “roof fire” during training sessions, and the Investigative Committee reported “a bang” in one of the premises.
According to the investigation, “On January 15, a bang occurred in one of the premises of the building of the professional training center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, located in the Ezhvinsky district of the city of Syktyvkar. There were casualties as a result of the incident." A criminal case has been initiated under Part 2 of Art. 293 of the Criminal Code - negligence, the maximum penalty under the article is up to 7 years in prison.
Telegram channels Shot and “112” reported that a flash-noise grenade exploded in the building.
According to them, the building was under renovation, and the explosion occurred during work. Eyewitnesses told the KomiInform agency that there was an injured person, presumably a worker, on the scaffolding near the building.
