A former teacher at the Suvorov Military School in Yekaterinburg was sentenced to eight years in prison for the rape of a cadet.

The Chkalovsky District Court of Yekaterinburg sentenced the former teacher of the Yekaterinburg Suvorov Military School to eight years in a general regime colony. According to the press service of the courts of the Sverdlovsk region, he was charged with sexual assault.

In the press service message, the person involved is identified as Vladimir Shch., his full name is not given. However, in August 2025, the same press service reported sexual violence by a Suvorov Military School teacher, V. Shchekotov.

According to investigators, the teacher invited the minor Suvorov student to his dacha to take a steam bath, where he committed “actions of a sexual nature.” Shchekotov did not admit guilt.

The court ordered the accused to pay 200 thousand rubles as compensation for moral damage. The press service also clarifies that after a five-year term in the colony, Shchekotov’s freedom will be limited for another year and a half.
