The prosecutor's office asked to sentence him to 12 years in a maximum security colony.
The court found it proven that on December 28, 2023, the then 18-year-old Dergunov decided to voluntarily join the “Freedom of Russia” legion and sent his questionnaire to the “official bot” of LSR. At the beginning of January 2024, a telegram contact under the nickname “Ruslan” contacted him and asked if his intentions had changed and asked for a photo of Dergunov’s passport.
On January 12, 2024, from another telegram contact with the nickname “Pavel,” he received an assignment to use a stencil to write the phrase “ROC for murderers” on the Church of the Resurrection of Christ and the Transfiguration Monastery - the words had to be in the colors of the white-blue-white flag and repeated at least five times at each church.
Dergunov was detained on January 13 in a garage complex next to the Jewish cemetery. During the arrest, the young man voluntarily told the security forces his phone password.
Dergunov himself admitted guilt and repented. The defense asked to take into account that, despite reaching adulthood, Dergunov was still “psychologically immature,” but now he “changed his views” and “matured,” and also submitted a petition that he was ready to enter into a contract with the Ministry of Defense.
The lawyer also asked the court to take into account that Dergunov’s mother transferred six thousand rubles to the “Everything for Victory” fund.
