The FSB reported on the prevention of a terrorist attack in Ufa, which was planned to be carried out by two citizens of a Central Asian country who were members of the Islamic State.
According to the intelligence service, the accused were planning to attack one of the police departments using a firearm and homemade explosives.
One of the alleged participants in the terrorist attack, who is called the “leader of the cell,” was shot dead by FSB officers “as a result of a clash.”
The surviving detainee is accused of preparing for a terrorist attack (Part 1 of Article 30, Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code) and participation in a terrorist organization (Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code).
The FSB press service also published a video of two men buying goods at a hardware store, with footage of them being detained and searched in one of the apartments.
“I was offered to carry out jihad in Ufa, and we were preparing a bomb, after which we wanted to blow up the police,” one of the detainees says in the recording.
