Four defendants in the case of the murder of General Igor Kirillov were sentenced to terms ranging from 18 years to life.

The 2nd Western District Military Court in Moscow sentenced the defendants in the case of the murder of the head of the radiation, chemical and biological defense forces (RKhBZ) Igor Kirillov, the press service of the Investigative Committee reports .

Akhmadzhon Kurbonov was sentenced to life imprisonment. He will serve his sentence in a special regime colony.

Robert Safaryan was given 25 years in prison, Batukhan Tochiev - 22 years, Ramazan Padiev - 18 years. They will be sent to maximum security colonies.

The defendants are charged with participation in a terrorist community (Part 2 of Article 205.4 of the Criminal Code), committing a terrorist attack by an organized group (Part 3 of Article 223.1 of the Criminal Code), illegal trafficking in explosives (Part 4 of Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code) and training for the purpose of carrying out a terrorist attack (Article 205.3 of the Criminal Code).

Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov died near a residential building in Moscow along with his assistant Ilya Polikarpov on the morning of December 17, 2024. A bomb hidden in an electric scooter exploded near the entrance where the military were stationed.

According to investigators, in the fall of 2024, the organizers of the murder organized the delivery of bomb parts from Poland to Safaryan in Moscow. He hid them at home and then handed them over to the perpetrator of the terrorist attack, Kurbonov. He collected explosives, attached them to the scooter, and then detonated them remotely. Tochiev and Padiev helped him in the conspiracy.
