The “administrator” of the neo-Nazi channel, in a conversation with “New Europe”, again called the destruction of the sign a Politkovsky action of the group. What else is known about them?

On the eve of the next anniversary of the murder of Stanislav Markelov and Anastasia Baburova in Moscow, a memorial plaque in memory of journalist Anna Politkovskaya at her house on Lesnaya Street was destroyed. At the scene of the murder on Prechistenka, posters appeared insulting the deceased lawyer and journalist. In this regard, the media mention the NS/WP group - information about involvement appeared in one of the closed Nazi chats. Novaya Gazeta Europe wrote about NS/WP recently, on December 30, in connection with the verdict of members of an organization banned in the Russian Federation in the case of an attempt on the life of propagandist Vladimir Solovyov. Since the publication, the group has published details of the anti-Semitic murder in Odessa. Novaya Gazeta Europe contacted the “fighters for the white race.”

Restart after mental hospital

NS/WP is the name of a Nazi forum in the mid-2000s, where far-right teenagers met and posted violent videos, many of whom later went to jail for racist murders, including serial ones.

The Russian justice system does not work quickly, only in 2021 the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation recognized NS/WP as a terrorist organization: now this allows law enforcement officers to bring quite serious charges for any involvement in their activities.

True, NS/WP might not have had any activity, but in the same year 2021, Andrei Pronsky, one of the forum members of the 2000s, was released after forced treatment. He spent 9 years in a closed mental hospital for the murder of an acquaintance with Jewish roots and subsequent mockery of the corpse (on video).

Pronsky relaunched NS/WP with one of its founders in the 2000s, neo-Nazi Roman “Zuchel” Zheleznov. By that time, Zheleznov had served time in Russia, in 2014 he moved to Ukraine and fought there against the Donbass separatists as part of the Azov battalion. In 2017, Zheleznov quarreled with Ukrainian nationalists: his former comrades beat him and posted a video of his humiliation on the Internet. Since then, Zheleznov’s whereabouts have been unknown: there was information that he might be in Europe.

Pronsky did not remain free for long: at the end of April 2022, he and a group of associates were arrested on charges of preparing an assassination attempt on television propagandist Vladimir Solovyov and a number of other crimes.

In December 2025, Pronsky was sentenced to life imprisonment.

Meanwhile, racist violence content from Russia and Ukraine is regularly published on behalf of NS/WP.

Novaya Gazeta Europe contacted the administrator of NS/WP : stylistically, his answers are reminiscent of old interviews and texts by Roman Zheleznov, but we cannot say that it was he who answered.

Attacks

On January 18, a religious scholar with right-wing views, a former employee of TASS and RIA Novosti, 44-year-old Alexander Filippov, was detained for breaking a memorial plaque to Anna Politkovskaya. According to the protocol, in court he did not admit guilt, he said that he did not break anything, but came up to remove the withered flowers lying nearby, and at that moment the sign fell on its own. The Tverskoy District Court did not believe Filippov and fined him 1,000 rubles for petty hooliganism.

The editorial office of Novaya Gazeta, where Anna Politkovskaya worked, and her children demand that the authorities initiate a criminal case for vandalism - it is impossible to knock off the memorial plaque from the wall of the building with withered flowers, for this you need a hammer or a sledgehammer - the plaque was knocked down.

There are other errors in the protocol. The time of detention is indicated as 00-03 on January 18, while the board was broken on Sunday evening. A religious monarchist, as Filippov calls himself, he says he went to dance at the Depot. Moreover, on Sundays “Depot” is open until 23:00. Where he was going to dance in the food court is an interesting question, but not the main one. It is more interesting why the religious scholar did not stand in line at the ice hole on the night of Epiphany.

The protocol also states that Filippov has not previously been brought to justice. The Agency publication discovered that journalist A. S. Filippov was still charged with arbitrariness in 2003. Novaya Gazeta believes that

a sudden fine for petty hooliganism is just a cover to refuse to initiate a criminal case: the law prohibits being tried twice for the same thing.

In place of the memorial plaque, activists installed a new one made of plasterboard. However, the next day it was torn off. The next day the situation repeated itself - the sign was destroyed again. Journalists spoke with a local resident, who admitted that she was the one tearing down the memorial sign - “because I never liked it (the sign), the residents did not give consent, and Politkovskaya did not live here, it was a safe house.” These statements are difficult to evaluate critically, as is the mental health of this woman. But there is no sign on the house 8/12 on Lesnaya Street.

At the same time, NS/WP once again confirmed their involvement in this situation: this is evidenced by the correspondence of Novaya Gazeta Europe with a representative of the group; Politkovskaya’s broken sign is mentioned in it as one of their actions. Let us remind you that NS/WP is recognized as a terrorist organization in Russia.

— There is NS/WP as an association of specific people, and there is a movement (support) - those who want to associate themselves with us, expressing solidarity in different ways to the best of their ability. […] For obvious reasons, we will not say that the person who performed this is our comrade-in-arms, so that he does not receive additional qualifications, - this is how the administrator of the Nazi resource spoke about Filippov.

The vandalism of Anna Politkovskaya's memorial plaque is not very clear to the Nazis: Politkovskaya worked for Novaya Gazeta, openly conflicted with Kadyrov's men, and was killed in 2006 in the entrance of her house on Lesnaya Street.

Novaya Gazeta became an object of hatred for the ultra-right later, when it actively became involved in the investigation into the murder of its journalist Anastasia Baburova and lawyer Stanislav Markelov and helped defeat the BORN group that was behind it, as well as dozens of other murders on ethnic grounds. The Pronsky group, which was preparing an assassination attempt on Solovyov, also considered the possibility of killing Nobel laureate Dmitry Muratov.

In the 2000s, Zheleznov collected information about anti-fascists and published it on a separate website: the data was used by the center of E and various far-right groups, the same BORN, the Combat Organization of Russian Nationalists. It turns out that the neo-Nazis from NS/WP hate everyone: anti-fascists and Kadyrovites, Solovyov and Muratov, Ukrainians and z-patriots, Anna Politkovskaya and Novaya Gazeta, migrants and Jews. Is it a mess in the head, a thirst for money or a consistent ideology of hatred? We asked the NS/WP channel administrator about this.

Adapters

Group videos are not publicly available: Telegram is known for a broader approach than other social networks to what can be published on the platform. But videos with racist violence are being cleaned out here too. True, only from public Telegram channels, and private channels are not moderated. NS/WP creates “transitioners”: relatively neutral channels where links to private channels are published, already with scenes of violence and racist propaganda.

The correspondent of Novaya Gazeta Europe got into the closed NS/WP channel through an “adapter”. There are many videos published there with pretentious calls to “defend the purity of the white race,” “rise above the common people,” etc. And many episodes of arson and beatings.

Most of the violent videos are very blurry. Twilight, some silhouettes, screams and blows. It is often quite difficult to understand what is going on. Videos with arson are usually filmed in the same surroundings. It can be seen that some cars or buildings are burning, but only from the descriptions can one understand that this is the place of residence or the property of migrants. NS/WP has a lot of videos of arson, where it is easiest to identify the targets of the attack - in which cars with the letters Z are on fire.

The administrator of NS/WP stated in correspondence with a correspondent of Novaya Gazeta Europe that the group considers the political systems of both Russia and Ukraine to be “anti-people regimes.”

— The global goal is a new world order after a total war (all against all), during which people will form racial consciousness,

- he claims.

Anti-Semitic murder in Odessa

Behind blurry videos of incomprehensible violence in the twilight, real crimes may be hidden. On January 13, NS/WP took responsibility and published a video of the murder committed on December 9 in Odessa.

In December, it became known about the murder of the head of the Jewish charitable foundation “Rachamim” Denis Trebenko. Law enforcement officers put forward the version of the murder because of debts: Trebenko himself was in debt for tens of thousands of dollars, and he was owed tens of thousands of dollars. Separatist media in Ukraine wrote about Trebenko as a person involved in the pro-Maidan movement in Odessa in 2014 and the tragedy with the deaths of people in the House of Trade Unions.

Two interlocutors of Novaya Gazeta Europe among the Jews of Odessa said that Trebenko at different times was involved in different Jewish communities of the city, but was not among the leaders of any of them. And he definitely had nothing to do with the events that led to the fire in the Odessa House of Trade Unions.

An NS/WP administrator said the group waited a month before taking responsibility in order to ensure the killer's safety.

“This is a purely symbolic act, a reaction to the interview of the head of the board of the united Jewish community of Ukraine, Shmuel Kaminetsky, that after the war, the demographic catastrophe of Ukraine will be “corrected” by immigrants,” he said.

In the closed NS/WP channel, a post about Trebenko’s murder is accompanied by a video that also quotes Kaminetsky’s words about migrants in post-war Ukraine. The murder of Trebenko is not the only episode of NS/WP activity in Ukraine. Among the latest videos is the burning of a shawarma tent in Kyiv.

In 2024, in Lviv, an ultra-rightist associated with NS/WP shot ex-deputy Irina Farion, one of the most famous Ukrainian nationalists. This murder of NS/WP was motivated by the fact that Farion was promoting hatred of Russians.

“In Russia, security forces have specialized structures of the UZKS FSB and the GUPE of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and matters with full-fledged weapons are much more complicated,” this is how the NS/WP administrator commented on why the group is now producing high-profile political murders in Ukraine, and not in Russia.

Kill everyone at once

At the same time, the administrator of NS/WP confirmed to Novaya Gazeta Europe the version of the prosecution regarding Pronsky’s group: that the assassination attempt on Vladimir Solovyov in Moscow was prepared in coordination with the Ukrainian special services, which, if successful, promised to commute the sentence of their Kharkov comrade Artem Deriglazov, who is serving a life sentence for the murder of a policeman in 2010.

“The only thing that seems crazy is Pronsky’s disregard for the rules of secrecy, which led to the discovery and destruction of the first members of the Moscow autonomous sabotage group. Soloviev is mortal, like anyone else. Of course there was a chance

- he thinks.

Let us remind you that according to the version of the investigation, voiced in court, a killer disguised as a pizza delivery man planned to kill the TV presenter and propagandist Solovyov. But something went wrong. For the successful liquidation of Solovyov, the neo-Nazis were promised help to leave Russia for Europe. This is pragmatic nationalism.

The teenagers accused of preparing the assassination attempt on Margarita Simonyan are also considered involved in NS/WP. In the summer of 2025, Novaya Gazeta published an investigation that this group of young Moscow Nazi skinheads was led by a certain “Fash,” a man much older than them. He involved them in preparing an assassination attempt on a television propagandist, and does not appear in any way in the criminal case.

— After receiving the case materials and verifying additional information from other people, he (“Fash.” — Ed. ) was publicly expelled by a collective decision. This was not the end of the story with him. Afterwards, a girl was arrested (a participant in the vote for expulsion from the Fasha group. - Ed. ), We regard this as nothing other than the revenge of his curators, says the administrator of the Nazi portal.

An interlocutor of Novaya Gazeta Europe, who monitors the activities of the far right in Russia , notes that NS/WP is a very popular brand in the relevant environment. Therefore, people who want to engage in racist violence easily agree to act under this guise.

— In any society there is always a percentage of radicals, including the ultra-right, and the blockage of the political system leads to the destruction of normal forms of expression and pushes people into marginalism and radicalism. The first reason is general. The second is specific to Russia. Daniil Konstantinov , a right-wing Russian politician in exile, explains the popularity of the group by the lack of opportunities for legal activities in Russia.

In correspondence with Novaya Gazeta Europe, the NS/WP administrator outlined the goal of his activities as the further “escalation of real violence.” This can be achieved, among other things, through cash injections. He claims that

the group has the ability to financially support its fans.

Novaya Gazeta Europe's interlocutor among anti-fascists does not rule out that NS/WP may have some funds from trafficking in weapons, drugs, or blackmailing people whom they may accuse of pedophilia.

“We support those who act in accordance with our principles with cryptocurrencies, weapons or advertising. We do not hesitate to use commercially oriented gopniks for small topics, so as not to risk shareholders. We have our own line, which we do not adapt to either the general opposition or the subcultural agenda. Let me add: we are not skinheads, and we view current teenage fashion solely as an accessible recruiting environment,” says the Nazi representative.

In the closed NS/WP channel, posts with videos of arson and violence appear almost every day. True, they repeat periodically. For the new world order, old videos will also be useful.
