Two teenagers from the Moscow region received real sentences for setting fire to relay cabinets

The 2nd Western District Military Court sentenced two teenagers from the Moscow region to real terms under the article of terrorism for setting fire to relay cabinets, the court's press service reports .

According to investigators, in January 2025, a 10th grade student at one of the schools near Moscow corresponded on the Internet with an unknown person who offered him to commit arson for money. The defendant agreed and offered the job to his friend, a college student.

The teenagers set fire to 3 relay cabinets and a battery cabinet in the area of ​​the Golutvin station, and then sent a video report to the customer. For this, the court verdict says, they received 60 thousand rubles - with this money they bought a mobile phone and a smart watch.

Both defendants admitted guilt and stated that after filming the video report, they extinguished the set fire to the cabinets, “realizing the possible negative consequences.”

Both teenagers received six years in prison: the schoolboy (he was 15 at the time of his arrest) will serve his sentence in a correctional colony, and the college student, who turned 18 at the time of sentencing, will serve in a general regime colony.
