The 2nd Western District Military Court sentenced a 15-year-old school student and a 17-year-old college student from Nizhny Novgorod in the case of committing a terrorist attack (Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code), the court’s press service reported .
The schoolboy was sentenced to 6 years and 3 months in a correctional colony, the student was sentenced to six years in prison.
According to the prosecution, on the night of May 21, 2025, they set fire to three cellular base stations in the city for a reward of 60 thousand rubles from an unknown person.
“The teenagers filmed their actions and sent the recording to the person who ordered the crime,” the court said in a statement.
1.3 million rubles were also recovered from the mothers of the accused in favor of mobile operators whose equipment was damaged.
Last week, the Volga Transport Prosecutor's Office reported on another criminal case of a terrorist attack against teenagers aged 15 and 16 from the Nizhny Novgorod region.
They were accused of setting fire to a relay cabinet and two cabinets at an information reading point on the railway section between Tongashevo and Pizhma stations in February 2025.
Also last week, it became known that the 2nd Western District Military Court sentenced two teenagers from the Moscow region to 6 years in an educational colony and a general regime colony for setting fire to relay cabinets in the area of the Golutvin railway station.
