YouTube began deleting large AI channels
The YouTube platform has begun deleting popular channels that publish low-quality content generated by neural networks. This is reported by The Verge with reference to data from the Kapwing service, which tracks the so-called “AI garbage” (AI-slop), that is, template AI content created in large volumes for the sake of views and monetization.
According to Kapwing, about 18 channels with millions of subscribers disappeared from the platform or were completely cleared of video. One of the most notable was the channel CuentosFacianantes, which had more than 5.9 million subscribers and over 1.2 billion views. In Kapwing's November 2025 report, the channel was named the largest in the "AI Junk" category. He published a large number of similar videos dedicated to fictional stories in the Dragon Ball universe.
In addition, the Imperio de Jesus channel, with an audience of more than 5.8 million subscribers, became unavailable. The channel's description said its content was focused on "building faith in Jesus through entertaining, interactive quizzes." Several other major channels on Kapwing's list, including Heroes de Fantasia, Adhamali-0 and Roupa25, were either removed or purged of videos.
As The Verge notes, this purge followed statements by YouTube management about their intention to reduce the distribution of low-quality AI content. Platform CEO Neil Mohan previously said that the company plans to make more active use of existing anti-spam and clickbait systems to limit such content. However, YouTube has not yet specified which channels were deleted and for what reasons.
At the same time, YouTube continues to encourage the use of neural networks as a creative tool, the publication notes. In particular, the platform is developing its own AI tools for creating videos and continues to recommend that creators use the generated fragments in short videos. Experts note that the company’s policy is not directed against AI as such, but against mass automated production of content without authorial participation.
