US President Donald Trump called Vladimir Putin and asked not to shell Ukrainian cities for a week. It's all about the extreme cold that is predicted in Ukraine, reports Clash Report.
“Many people told me not to waste time because I would not get support from him. But Putin agreed, and we are very glad that he did it. Ukrainians don't need rockets falling on their cities now. So I just wanted to say that it was a very, very good decision,” Trump said.
Separately, the head of the White House said that “great progress has been achieved” in Russian-Ukrainian negotiations. Trump recalled that the United States has ended eight military conflicts. And now he believes that another war will soon end in the world.
“Steve Witkoff works very hard, and Jared Kushner, and everyone else. “I think we will soon resolve the war in Ukraine,” Trump added during a meeting with White House administration officials.
In turn, US Presidential Special Envoy Steve Witkoff noted that significant progress has indeed been made in peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
Earlier in the day on January 29, reports circulated in Russian military channels that the delegations of Ukraine and Russia at a meeting in Abu Dhabi allegedly agreed on an “energy truce.” The talk was about stopping shelling of critical infrastructure until February 3.
Thus, according to Z-blogger Vladimir Romanov, the high command of the Russian army allegedly issued an order prohibiting attacks on the Ukrainian energy infrastructure, as well as on facilities in Kyiv and the Kyiv region.
Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov confirmed that trilateral negotiations between the Russian, Ukrainian and American delegations will continue on February 1 in the capital of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi.
